Domain in account I can no longer access

Set up an account and purchased a domain. Upon returning to enter the account, GoDaddy sent a authorization code like a two-factor even though that option was never activated to the e-mail account that was used to set up the account but is no longer available. Would like to transfer domain to the new second GoDaddy account.

Hi @drmolecule,

If you have not added Two-Step Verification to your account, you do not need to send any ID or make a request for its removal. It's not clear here why you're being asked for verification through codes to your email. Your best option will be to contact GoDaddy customer support and validate the account with your PIN. They can then provide more information and access to your account.

Hi @drmolecule. Barring your being able to receive an authorization code, you may need to follow the process outlined in this article to regain access to the domain. You can always contact our customer care team for advice on this matter as well.

I have nothing else to say other than: that's a ridiculous set of steps for something we never caused. We set up the account, purchased a domain, and then the next time to login got an unprompted and unexpected authorization code sent to email account. If that was going to happen, GD should have informed ahead of time so that we could have had the opportunity to change the email address to something more permanent. Submitting "photo id", and corporate info. enumerated at the page is just asinine. Get with it GD, don't lock people out, new customers, without forewarning and then as THEM to jump through hoops.  I see nowhere in there did it mention provide a copy or proof of purchase, such as the credit card, which we would be willing to send a face shot of it.
