Hi Everyone,
Here below is the problem I am working on for a week now. I hope someone has an idea where to search or has a solution. Any help is very much appreciated.
Problem:
If you type the complete URL's in a browser below you will see a different version of our website. (I did not use the official domain name. If anyone would like to test, let me now)
https://www.sample.com
https://sample.com or http://www.sample.com
* before testing the above I flushed all server side cache, removed all caching plugins and removed browser cache.
GoDaddy feedback and status
They told me to wait because they think it is caused by the DNS file that needs to be distributed. Personally I don't think this is the problem or the solution.
DNS info and test
As far as I can tell ( and the support employees from GoDaddy) the DNS info ( A records and CNAME for www is correct). If I check the A record for both the www and non-www domain name with this site www.whatsmydns.net/ it shows the correct IP address. If I check the CNAME for the www domain name it shows a redirect to the non-www domain as I would expect.
Check Redirect (wheregoes.com/trace/)
What is strange to me is that if I trace the redirect it gives an error warning after the redirect.
If I trace another domain I own, the tool shows a 'completed' redirect as last status. If I trace the domain with the problem I get the response below and never a 'completed redirect'. This reply is for a trace for the non-www, www or http / https versions. It always will give an error response in the end. Below you can see the result.
https://www.sample.com
redirect 301 Redirect
https://sample.com/
Error: Status Code 503
Thanks in advance for your time.
Greetings Sander

Thank you for your reply. Together with GoDaddy we got it solved. I am not sure exactly how they solved it but they changed my primairy domein name to the version with www. in front ( and also placed that in wordpress) and I assumed they cleared some cache somewhere in the server that I can't remove using the portal or the browser. Bu the good news is, that is has been taken care of and everything seems to work fine. Thank you for your time to reply to my question.
It would be helpful to see the actual domain - the only thing that comes to mind right now is client side cache - but it sounds like you've looked at that as well.
