I have a question I'm not able to find an answer for. I have multiple domains ie mydomain.com myseconddomain.com etc. All of my domains are subdomains of mydomain.com ie myseconddomain.mydomain.com. If I get a wildcard ssl and I redirect myseconddomain.mydomain.com to myseconddomain.com will it cancel out the SSL wildcard certificate?
In your case @davidruth if you buy a wildcard domain for mydomain.com then all subdirectories will be covered. You can create myseconddomain.mydomain.com then that is a subdirectory that would be covered in your wildcard SSL.
Forwarding myseconddomain.mydomain.com to myseconddomain.com would not be covered as there is no SSL certificate for your second domain. If you reverse that forwarding myseconddomain.com to myseconddomain.mydomain.com then the wildcard SSL on your primary domain will cover the forward.
...turns out that my two cents is worth less or more depending on the current exchange rate.
