Reseller: New International Storefront - Port To cPanel Hosted Server

I love the new beta International Storefront being developed on for resellers!  It is crisp, clean, and very modern!

With that said, it still does not address the biggest issue with the 'white label' storefront offered when becoming a reseller.  When someone navigates to my site, as I am using masking for branding, their web address bar does not show that the site is encrypted with an SSL certificate.

I understand that my domain is just masked to the site and that it is actually on a protected site, yet search engines do not seem to know this, as well, customers who go to my site cannot take me as a serious vendor when there browser bar is showing it as only http:// and not https://.  They will be highly likely to leave my site and not use my services.

GoDaddy has now implemented a plugin for WordPress that we can actually design our own site and add the SSL certificate; which is something even basic blogs know they need to have these days to be properly ranked on search engines or to have customers feel comfortable when viewing the site; however, I completely love the very sleek look of the new International 'white label' storefront and would love to use it.

Is there a way to port the HTML and CSS files to our hosted cPanel/Plesk servers so that we can utilize this beautiful site as well as insure our domain comes up as https:// for any perspective clients?

Or; is there a way to use the same template the reseller team used in creating the new storefront and have the plugin for changing languages added to the WordPress ability?

Not having the address bar signify the site as https:// pretty much defeats the purpose of even having a storefront offered with the plan at this point in web security.  Our own web browsers warn us whenever we are on such a ite that it is not to be trusted.  Is this the image GoDaddy would have for their 'white label' storefront resellers in order to levy out any competition?  As a Marine, I hope not

It seems as though you are an advanced user @SunflowerTower? My understanding of the Reseller program is that it has always been meant a out-of-the-box solution. This of course means that it will run on its own without much customization from the user. It's not that what you're asking for is complex, it's just probably more advanced than the platform is designed to handle?

You have always had the ability to design your complete own website and utilize the API to sale products. It seems that you want a complete custom solution so you might want to look into designing something like that?

As for the masking, do not mask. Just don't do it! Search does know that your website is masked by the way but masking does not equal a secure website. As far as I am aware all Reseller storefront pages are https:// unless you are going in there and tweaking some settings?

In terms of ranking I'd say don't play that game. If you do what you probably want to concentrate on is original content. I'd probably say use your own API website or build around the WordPress plugin. I've not seen a Reseller website that used the stock storefront and was ranked high in search.

...turns out that my two cents is worth less or more depending on the current exchange rate.

Hey @rd,

sorry to hijack this thread. But I have also recently signed up to the reseller program. I want to customise my site. The WP plugin does not import all the products.

I have stumbled upon the Reseller API plan... but do we have to sign up for it? or is it just available?

Are these the API's you speak about? https://www.secureserver.net/api/explore/#/

Can I just get my dev to use these APIs and integrate to my site and thats it?

Any help on this matter would be great! Its driving me nuts!!

No apology required @jungtech but thank you.

Looking at the GoDaddy Reseller page it looks like the WordPress function is ready to go. In my experience with the GoDaddy Reseller WordPress it does not yet have complete functionality. I'd describe it as Beta+ but you are correct when you note it does not currently have all of the products available. I think what will fix your issue is patience? So far the function has been improving rapidly and I expect that all products would be available soon?

I know nothing about that link you included or where you got it? Check out API Reseller Help. I hope that helps?
