If you are asking which hosting package is recommended - Without knowing what you are going to be doing on your site it is hard to give an recommendation - With that said - I personally use / recommend the Managed WordPress Ultimate Package as it includes an SSL certificate and many other features - it ends up being about $30/year than if you were to purchase a cPanel server and the SSL separately, however you are getting Malware Removal, staging site, daily backup and a number of other resources offsetting the slight difference in cost

Yes the Managed WordPress platform should work fine - please just be aware - that unlike cPanel where you can launch many sites - this is a single site - it does have a Dashboard, but it does not come with email the way you can configure a cPanel - it is just the WordPress Hosting.
That said I still recommend this over cPanel
