HTTP Error when uploading images

Every time I try to upload an image I get an Http error. I tried using the browser uploader and got a 502 Bad Gateway error. How do I fix this?

Hey there @veryconfused,

Thanks for being a part of the community!

It sounds like you're hitting a memory limit issue. Here's a good guide that should help with a bit of troubleshooting.

If you're on cPanel, increasing the memory limit is even easier. Go to Select PHP Version -> on the right hand side, click the link that says Switch to PHP Options. In the list of things you can change, the memory is kind of towards the bottom. Just change it to around 512M and you should be good to go after saving.

Hope that helps.

So I can't connect my site to an FTP either. Any advice would be great here!

Have you tried using your IP address instead of your domain name as the Hostname to sign into FTP? That will sometimes do the trick.

Hostname: IP Address or Domain Name

Username: whatever your username is

Password: whatever your password is

Port: 21 (FTP) or 22 (SFTP)

I suggest using the FileZilla FTP client if you can but they all work similarly.
