Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy Help

Switch my Microsoft 365 account to Exchange in Gmail (Android)

If you're using Microsoft 365 as POP or IMAP, your data (including mail, contacts, and calendars) might not be connected to your email and could be lost if you delete that account. To prevent any data loss, and to get the most secure, fast, and reliable email, switch your POP or IMAP account to Exchange.

  1. Sign in to Outlook on the web. Use your Microsoft 365 email address and password (your GoDaddy username and password won't work here). If you see email in your inbox, continue to the next step.
  2. Warning: If any messages are missing after your transition from Workspace Email to Microsoft 365, don't delete your POP or IMAP account yet. You can still add Exchange, but keep both accounts until you've recovered your messages.
  3. Open your Android's Gmail app.
    • New users: Tap Add an email address.
      Tap add email address
    • Existing users: Tap Account and Add another account.
      Tap add account
  4. Tap Exchange and Office 365.
    Select Exchange and Microsoft 365
  5. Enter your Microsoft 365 email and tap Next.
    Tap add account
  6. Enter your password and tap Next.
    Tap add account
  7. Note: If you forgot your email password, here's how to reset it.

  8. If your admin enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA), verify your account or set up the Authenticator app.
  9. First time account users, Review permissions to allow Gmail to access your phone.
    • Tap Activate to enable device admin privileges.
    • Tap Allow to let Gmail access your contacts.
    • Tap Allow to let Gmail access your calendar.
  10. When your account is ready to go, tap Done.
  11. To see your inbox, tap Take me to Gmail. Tap Profile to see your settings, and update your display name or mobile signature.

Compare your POP/IMAP and Exchange accounts. If your email is in Exchange, remove the POP/IMAP version from your device.
